Project Description
Project Details
The idea is complex enough: Deliver a screensaver application, as well as a website with a live view of the Pacifico rooster in a Mexican environment. An iPhone app was made as well.
Rackfish was involved in the early planning of the project from technical implementation and solution to logistics. Location scouting was made in Mexico by Rackfish.
On a backyard in Cuernavaca, Mexico (it had to have the right light environment for a place -6 hours GMT) Rackfish set up a pen with a rooster and two hens. A network camera that delievered an RTSP stream was installed and Pacifico logos were painted on the wall. A dedicated ADSL internet connection was set up for this project.
Rackfish delivered and managed a high redundancy server solution in Atlanta, GA. that received the video streams from the cameras, converted the video stream to RTMP for Flash streaming and did the streaming directly to the www.roosteralarmclock.com website, developed by Perfect Fools. In addition, a blog written by the owner of the rooster was set up with a day to day account of events in the life of Claudio (the rooster) and Sven (his owner). This blog went on to win the Blog of the Day award.
For the delivery, Rackfish used doubled virtual campaign servers. Sitestorage RTSP-RTMP conversion, Sitestorage Streaming, network cameras with RTSP-streams.
The campaign was awarded with a National Gold ADDY award and a Northwest Silver ADDY award as well as becoming a finalist in New York Festivals 2010 and a Golden award of Montreaux finalist 2010
